What is Brigandine Abyss?

Brigandine Abyss is a turn-based strategy RPG developed by Adglobe with Happinet, published in the West by NIS America. It reached Steam on 26 August 2026 and consoles — PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S — on 27 August, priced at $49.99 USD. Two hundred years after the sorceress Lunadea's armour broke the old Abyssloa Empire, the continent of Meltitea is at war again.

Story Mode follows six nations through their own campaigns, while Mission Mode opens all 24 nations with seven objective types between them. Every army is built from leader units and the monsters they command — up to five per squad — and battles play out on a hexagonal grid where height, terrain and elemental affinity decide more than raw stats.

This wiki catalogues the parts of the game that ship with fixed, checkable data: 24 nations, 76 named leaders, 29 unit classes and 39 achievements. Where the game does not publish a number — unit stats, growth rates, drop rates — this site says so rather than inventing one.

Get Started in 5 Steps

  1. Pick your mode. Story Mode gives six scripted campaigns; Mission Mode opens 24 nations with their own win conditions — see Mission Mode.
  2. Pick a nation. Your first campaign decides which leaders you start with — the starter order compares the six Story Mode nations.
  3. Build squads around Rally. Each leader commands up to five monsters and inherits a trait from the one they Rally — see Rally & Support.
  4. Read the hex board. Height, terrain and affinity swing damage before stats do — see the hex combat guide.
  5. Spend the Organization Phase. Level strongholds, send idle leaders on quests, and shop the travelling merchant — see Organization Phase.

FAQ

Is Brigandine Abyss a sequel — do I need to play the older games first?

No. The producer states plainly that Brigandine Abyss has no connections to characters or stories from past titles, so first-time players and series veterans start on the same footing. Runersia and the older entries are separate stories on a separate continent.

Is it spelled Brigandine Abyss or Brigadine Abyss?

Brigandine — with an 'n' after the 'a'. A brigandine is a real piece of medieval armour, and in this world it is the magical armour the sorceress Lunadea forged to stop the first Abyssloa Empire. 'Brigadine Abyss' and 'Brigantine Abyss' are common misspellings that point at the same game.

Does Brigandine Abyss have romance or dating mechanics?

There is no romance or dating system in the published feature list. The mechanic people mistake for one is Fate Binding, which is how leaders and monsters are recruited into your army — the achievement wording is 'Bind fates with a leader unit for the first time'. It changes your roster, not a relationship track.
